This little guy made the track down from Wyoming to see me he was one of my very FIRST newborns!!! I still remember to this day one of his pictures that I loved of him on my wicker stool and his pouty lip lol. Its so fun to see kids ive photographed continue to grow! Im honored to do what I do it seriously is the best job ever!! Thanks so much Stacy, R is just adorable as ever and i had fun interacting with him! Lots of fun expressions for you to see soon on your gallery :)

Wow was she a trooper! She was so sweet!!!! Mom drove all the way from Provo! I was honored! I think baby S new how important it was to mom and dad to get some great pictures of her while she was so tiny just 10 days new. Christina and Chase, you guys are so great! I had a great time even though Chase had one of his worst picture nightmares come true ;) Here is a sneak peak for you guys!

Im going to start offering Photo jewelry. I will have 2 styles of necklaces one having two sizes of photo pendants. I have one ready to post a pic of and the other necklace is a glass pendant (as soon as they arrive I will post a pic of one)

This is a necklace that is 21 inches long and the pendant shown here is 2x2. The other pendant size that is offered is 1.5x1.5 for those that want something a little smaller. These necklaces can be purchased by anyone, you dont need to have a photography session with me in order to purchase a necklace. Beads and charms on the necklace will vary, you can either buy one I list, or tell me the colors you would like in your necklace. The price for the above necklace as well as the 1.5x1.5 pendant are $30. If you would like them shipped please add $3 to ship. The glass pendant is on a ball chain and the price on that will be $18. Just a heads up as Saturday was a nice taste of good weather to come yay!!! I shot an engagement session on Saturday and the weather couldnt have been more perfect! I am currently booked through March (except for newborns) and im now booking into April. A few things going on at Marissa Vargason Photography.....
~Mini sessions for March 20th and 21st are now full.
~Our Manual class on March 7th is now full, but we have decided to open another class that is to be held on April 11th from 9-1, those interested in registering please email me or pay with the paypal button at the bottom of the page. The class size is limited due to the nature of the class. Remember this class is for everyone that has a camera that can shoot in manual mode, so for moms and photographers alike! For those whom have registered for the class on March 7th stay tuned for an email full of information :)
~Mothers day is coming up and what a better way to celebrate than getting your mom something wonderful this mothers day. Ive neglected my poor bloggy (you should see my family one, we are still at Christmas eek!) I promise I will post pics and try to keep updated more but ive been really busy working on my studio yay! Okay so a few updates, as far as the manual class on 3/7 there are only 3 spots left!!! If you want to come but cant make it that day send me an email and ill put you on a list for our next manual class and send you an email when we open it up. Also for the business workshop we only have a few spots left for that one as well, its an all day workshop everything to know for your business and more, yummy templates and actions on a cd, and a fun dinner with a private room for a round table discussion!!! This place is said to be so good!!! Im excited to try it! I have new products that im getting ready to introduce as well so stay tuned for that :)

I am doing mini sessions!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!! and at a price that cant be beat!!!!! {which is awesome in this economy!} There is no set theme but felt that this would be an awesome time to do Easter pictures!!!! Easter comes early this year so it will still be chilly outside. Okay here are the details.....I will only be taking a maximum of 24 participants...Thats it.
Price: $50.00 {yes I KNOW, I have LOST it}
~includes 25 minutes of photo bliss (trust me this alone is worth it lol)
~10 high resolution images on a cd
~special print and product pricing for mini sessions

The dates are for Friday March 20th, and Saturday March 21st and will be held in my studio in syracuse.

Ive had a few questions on the manual class so I wanted to clarify :)
we will be covering the following information:
~Aperature, ISO, and shutter speed
~The different shooting modes on your camera
~Shooting in manual
~The different Metering modes such as center weighted metering etc.
~The different focusing modes as well as back button focusing.
~White balance modes
~Any equipment questions you may have (this includes prime lenses, zoom lenses etc.

okay well you know schooled more or less, learn! You know what they say, knowledge is power! I am introducing a new class to the list as well! By popular demand, how to shoot in manual! yay! Okay read below for further information.
3/7 Shooting in manual (location to be announced) $100.00
*this will cover the basic understanding of your camera, the buttons, the functions, all that stuff you didnt know!
*we will also be going over ISO, F-stop (aperature) and Shutter speed and how to use all three for a great image!

This baby girl was so cute!!!!! she was very cooperative when we moved her even though she wanted to sleep. I have to add that the newer your baby is when you do pictures the easier it is to get these different shots, and to have them curled up! Lisa, thanks so much for contacting me and yes the basket shot was a tad different lol thanks for letting me express my art through your beautiful daughter. 1. No, but I have to say I do love it and im so glad that I got it. Although its not the new Mark II It still is very amazing!
2. Hmm….my favorite action, well lets see I like Nichole Vans Texture actions, and I love MCP’s sharpening actions. I try not to use actions as much because I don’t feel that they are consistant sometimes
3. Usually its something to do with your lighting or settings, or even post processing. Its hard to pinpoint sometimes but I highly recommend knowing how to shoot in manual and all of your settings.

Yay! Star struck am I! The infamous Jessica Kettle lol. I love your stuff so how cool to have you come to my 1 year yay!
1. As far as my indoor setup. I have an alien bees 400 on a heavy duty light stand with a giant octobox softbox. I must say I love it. When I do newborns, or young babies that aren’t as mobile or fast I have the softbox almost dead center and peak around the sides, I have found my lighting is most even when I do this. As far as older subjects and families, I like to have my light at a 45 degree angle to the left and then my camera center, and a reflector on the right, as far as a reflector goes, you can use a reflector or even white foamboard.
2. As far as camera settings I usually am at 100 ISO and ss 125 and then my aperature is around 5.6. Hopefully this helps! I cant wait to see more of what you do

Hi Bre! Thanks for your questions, I liked that you asked whats in my bag! I love to hear what others have in their bags.
1. I have a canon 5d Mark I, 85mm 1.8 and a 50mm 1.8. I used to have a tamron with my old camera and I must say I loved it! It just wouldn’t fit on the new one L I also have a 430 ex speedlight, gary fong lightsphere (clear), lens cloth, memory cards, chapstick, gum, note cards, business cards, squeaky toys, and treats.
2. As far as the lens goes, its really hard to answer, it all depends on what kind of photography you are into doing. I love the 50mm 1.8 and highly recommend it for newborns, portraits things like that. Its very sharp and I think that is what primes are known for, is the sharpness. If you were doing weddings or sports action photography, I would recommend a zoom of some sort, as you know I haven’t done a wedding (doesn’t mean I wouldn’t lol) but I have heard wonderful things about the 70-200L (hopefully I got that right lol).
3. Yes I do. I try to stay away from using my speedlight if I don’t have too, but I have also found great results while using it indoors and bouncing it off ceilings or windows, it produces great catchlights off windows (thanks Heather! Lol)
4. Hmmm Night shooting are we talking dark? Or getting dark lol. I have seen some amazing photography done at night with just speedlights or video lights. If I were to be doing it often I would love to learn more about video light, it is neat what they can do! I try to stay within natural light outdoors just a preference that’s all, no right or wrong either way.

Hi Heidi! Thanks for the questions.
1. As far as my blog header I just do it by hand in photoshop, or www.mcpactions.com has some great storyboards for blogs and websites.
2. As far as the header length, I have a template for my blog that tells me exactly what size to do. If you go through blogger there is an area that is under html that says header size that should tell you exactly to size it at. I hope this helps! If you are looking for “generally speaking” I would size mine 12x5 and then click the button on blogger that says size to fit. It always worked J

I am ALWAYS emailing you for questions....but one for here...How do you prop your newborns up to their are on their tummy and their head is resting on their hands? That's so hard!

Thanks Tina, I appreciate you following my journey.
1. I use a beanbag and a boppee. Its definitely taken some experimentation to see what works, but what I do is set my boppee on the beanbag then cover it with the fabric Im going to be using. I then fold the newborn in half basically and cross there arms under their head and lift them to where I want them to be, some newborns absolutely hate this and no matter what I do they will roll to the side or do other things but it still ends up cute. I have to make sure its nice and warm and they are very sleepy.

Hi Ali! Mmm now all I can think about is chocolate cake! Yummy!!! My neighbor use to make the best chocolate cake and then they moved Gosh see totally off topic lol.
1. Locations…..well versatile there are some, I like structures so any type of buildings, stairs, neat structures, I think they can be very versatile because you can do urban funky, or you can do really traditional.
2. I honestly don’t have a “favorite” location. It seems like with photography you almost have to stay “ahead of the game” so to speak so Im always on the hunt for locations….but with that being said, Ive found that I absolutely love North light. I never thought anything about it until another photographer told me to search for north light and see if I found a difference, well I did and now Im sold!
3. As far as this question, I think it’s a very neat thing you are wondering about, and I think you would be really great at this, you know, Annie and I have talked about this, so Ill get down to your question J As far as processing….I don’t know that I would really use an action per se I might even try to do it more by hand because I think it would definitely be a case by case, with that being said an action might make one pic look wonderful and the next very ucky. I would do a lot depending again on the case in black and white, but if you decide to go this route, email me Id be more than happy to give you more in depth information.

1. I kind of answered this above, but Ill switch it a bit and tell you kind of my favorite style. I love lifestyle photographs, I love when a family can be relaxed and just act naturally I love to capture interaction, laughing etc. I think its so much more natural, I also love urban because I love the contrasty colors and textures, and I love newborns. I think this is a very important time in life and it lasts only about 2 weeks! I just cant believe how fast they change in the beginning and I love remembering things like that, so pure!
2. wow! Now that’s a great question!!!! There are a lot of people that inspire me and some you would never guess! I love Anne Geddes stuff! I love to look through her old work, and im not talking about her flowers, or staged shots, I love the old black and whites, and hanging from fabrics its amazing! She truly invented an art form. I also love Jodie Ottes work for newborns, something about it, her lighting ugh its amazing Id love to go to her workshop. I try to look through articles old books things like that so that I can “reinvent” things. I love to be inspired but try to put my spin on it. Sometimes I see other photographers do things that I have wanted to do before I am able to and I get bummed sometimes, but then I just try to think of a way to do it different. I also love Patti Schmidt, her black and whites are amazing. I seriously could go on and on
3. Building my portfolio was a little tricky for me. I don’t have a lot of family and with Utah being so saturated I had a hard time “selling” my art and my talent. I started out offering free sessions. Then people could try me out so to speak. Then if they loved there pictures they could then buy prints from me or a copyright cd. This was at full price, the only thing free was the session but my prices aren’t unreasonable either. I highly recommend setting up all your prices to where you want them to be after portfolio building if that means $75 a session fee then set it there. Then offer discounts! Offer them for free and then maybe a discount on prints. But make sure you have your prices available to see that way people aren’t shocked when your not doing free anymore, again we are saturated and some photographers just give their time and talent away for free.

First of all, would you mind sharing answers to everyones questions? I know I already put in a request but I thought of a few more, what props do you use for newborns, what is your pricing structure, and when I do newborn pictures, I try to burn the black sheet so it is darker and I end up getting a halo effect around the baby, what is the correct way to do that? And I've seen pictures where it is all white around the newborn, but I can't burn my white background....You are awesome for being so willing to give back! ThanksHeidiUtah Peas

1. I try to stay away from a lot of props, so I use really simple things. I always have a bean bag, boppee and a heater. Then I like to tell parents to wear dark shirts so I can use there hands as props and I also like bracelets for girls and hats, beanies, special blankets, heirlooms, things that have meaning. I love cocoons (which leads me to the one I used, I actually made that I didn’t buy it) and I love baskets as well. I actually have props I haven’t even been able to use yet, but Im so excited when I get the opportunity to! I have some babies in April and May that Im going to use some neat things on!
2. My pricing structure can be seen on my blog under pricing, I have always gone into photography knowing I wanted to make it worth my time while I was away from my family and help provide for my family, but I wanted to keep it affordable as well. Its hard to get people to understand that they can afford me as well, but instead they are going to studios like Kiddie Kandid where they don’t edit L and are not custom photographers. If you have additional questions on mypricing structure please feel free to email me.
3. As far as the the backgrounds, when I use black I burn the black and when I get close to the newborn I zoom really far in, this takes time, but it ensures a great outcome so that Im not getting on the baby and burning there skin, but im insuring that Im getting all the black as well this will eliminate the “halo” around the baby. As for white, most “true” whites I have seen are lit with a high key set up. In other words where there are more than one light, one lights the backdrop, and one lights the subject. You can try to achieve this other ways such as using a screen layer, or dodging the area.

1. as far as the backdrops I get mine from numerous places. If you are speaking of the beadboard on the gorgeous girls that is actually a wall in their home. Others I use are fabric and seamless paper. I love seamless actually I am also in the process of making a canvas backdrop, I would buy one, but I just cant see spending $300 so im going to try to make one first

I really love urban stuff and I wanted to try something different for my kids, for urban I like texture, and contrasty :) This doesnt work for everyone, but thats why photography is art, not everyone has to like it. I still have to do my youngest so I didnt forget her lol.

I love to take pictures of newborns, Im sure you have all heard me oooh and awe about newborns. I love their pureness, their ability to bend like in the womb, their wrinkles, flakey skin, belly buttons i just love them!!!! Anyways Ill quit yapping and post some eye candy, no one likes rambling :)

Okay well its my one year anniversary in taking clients with my photography business one big year!!! wahoo! I saw from a friend of mines blog her one year anniversary, she decided to give back. I loved that idea!!! Wow is all I can say. This family was blessed with their 5th daughter and I emphasize on the word blessed. They allowed me into their home to capture their new arrival at 4 weeks of age and how welcoming it was. Their girls were all so accomodating and polite it was so amazing! I was impressed to say the least and they are all stunning! Their dad has a long road ahead of him lol. Emily thank you so much, here is your sneak peak and there are a lot more to come.

Oh and if anyone knows a great way to have my photos look sharp on the web, can you please email me? It seems like they lose something when uploaded to blogger.

I had the opportunity to photograph this wonderful family, the thing I liked most was there interaction and they were very laid back. I love when families let down and have a good time! It shows if you are uncomfortable in your photos so I want people to feel comfortable and relax :) I am also posting a photo of a handsome man (aka hollywood) Im sure he will thank me later lol. I have a ton of pics you guys and tons of amazing and funny ones :) I wanted to post a few though so that you can take a look :)

On a side note this new year is full of amazing events for everyone! I will only be taking approx 3-4 sessions per week with the occasional exception :) If you are expecting, or know of an event taking place that you would like to book, if you could please email me and tentatively schedule (I know babies are very hard to predict when they arrive lol) it will help me to be a little more organized with my schedule and then I will be able to give my clients the time and attention they deserve. To kick off the new year I am offering a free 10x10 print with a coordinating easel FREE with any one year trash the cake session or newborn session booked within the next two weeks. Its easy, all you have to do is email me with your requested date and thats it :) If you are expecting, just email me your estimated due date and Ill mark you down then you just need to contact me and come in within the first 2 weeks of your newborns life. 7-10 days being optimal. Now Introducing......K! She was seriously the sweetest little thing!!! She was so patient, and didnt fuss much at all, and one of my quickest newborn sessions yet, in less than an hour! The Expressions Collection.....

This is so exciting for me because I feel that we should be able to express ourselves. One of my favorite things about photography is getting to know my clients! I am excited to be offering this new product called expressions. You can take any picture at any age, and add their name, or characteristics about your child. These can be printed on canvas, or print, or mounted and displayed on an easel. Its a very fun product for milestones as well such as birth, 6 months, one year, 8 years, any age really! I have been pondering this idea in my head for a few days or so but when I took some pictures of Abbie (hope you dont mind Annie lol) it just all seemed to come together! I think the picture just spoke to me, as many do. So without further ado, here is an example.....Thanks Abbie for letting me display your beautiful mug all over my blog lol. Thats what I like to call it! I love to work under pressure and when I received a call from this wonderful family wanting to do some last minute Christmas card pics I was thrilled! Then came Friday, the day of pics and the day of the STORM!!! No! I didnt want snow! but we had a back up plan! So we ended up shooting some indoors and I feel we got some amazing portraits! Im hoping mom will agree!

I want to first say I hope every one has a happy thanksgiving tomorrow! I also want to mention that this years coming to an end and I will be enjoying most of the holidays with my family therefore sessions will be limited. A little about me.....

I wanted to take a minute and post a little about me and my style. I know a lot of people shop for photographers and to make an investment to capture important memories is very important! I have 3 beautiful kids and honestly the reason I started photography was because like many of my peers, I got tired of the hustle and bustle of the chain studios. Kids, as we know, tend to be very unpredictable and I had my run in for the last time with a 15 minute session gone bad. I had good times and I had bad, but it got to the point that when I went to chain studios I was still spending on average $130-$200 a session and mind you this was for 20 minutes, a few pictures, and no editing! I wish someone would have informed me sooner about custom photography honestly its the same price and you can have your photos on a cd to print at your beck and call. Again this is a little about me and im not saying anything other than that about chain studios, they just werent for me....

As for my style Im a little outside of the box, I want to capture your moments as memories that you can display in your home as art! I love to do textures, antiquing, a vintage feel. I specialize in on location natural light photography as well as studio photography. I love photographing families, newborns, babies, kids, maternity and seniors! I really would love to try a wedding or two and some gorgeous bridals so if there are any takers out there let me know! I really love to capture families interacting with their children and have their pictures tell a story about them! I take into great detail my clients as I am capturing the details of newborns wrinkles, tiny fingers, curled up, wrapped up and I love capturing who my client is versus what props were available. You might be thinking now, but she uses props, and yes I do! I love certain props I feel like they just add to the art Im capturing. I just want to encourage anyone looking for a custom photographer to ask a lot of questions, review the photographers portfolio, and make sure there style is something that you love! There are some great articles on the web about choosing a custom photographer, and why to choose custom photography, they are very informative. I will be posting links to those articles on my sidebar. A few things are going to be changing in the New Year for me and I am very excited!!! I have more knowledge and Im definitely taking it to the next level so stay tuned! Prices will be changing in the new year beginning Jan. 2009 but these price structures are for the benefit of my clients. Im also doing some new things for my studio and have some great new props for newborns, babies and kids and I think you will all love it! You know what that means right? Yep time to have another!!! Lol. Okay so I have some upcoming sessions that I refer to as "trash the cake" these are a typical one year old session where we do regular photos first and then we have them trash the cake and take pictures! Its way fun! I have had a lot of people ask about this so I decided to do a session with my now two year old, granted one year olds will be a lot different than she was, she didnt get to do this at one, so she is doing it now :) Oh and usually babies dont wear shirts (so they dont blend in the background like my little one did) but who cares right? She is freaking cute!!!

Maternities....

I was lucky enough to be able to capture maternities for a good friend and she was so outgoing and creative and we came up with some great ideas! She is gorgeous too so that made my job easy, but I have many more ideas up my sleeve, and Im looking forward to doing some more maternities with her, her hubby, and little boy! Meet 3 year old "F" for being 3 she did awesome! She was very patient with me! I dont typically pose children and sit and wait for a smile and capture only that. I do understand moms want there children to look at the camera and smile, and who doesnt but I love the expressions I catch when they arent paying attention to me! So with "F" Im going to show a few different pictures in different processings. Enjoy!

So sorry this blog has been neglected Ive been crazy busy but I promise to post lots soon!!! Also check out my personal blog for some really neat artsy stuff coming soon!

I am: a mother, a photographer, a fighter in my beliefs.
I know: I should be more productive but sometimes I cant turn off my creativity!
I want: a new camera, white and chestnut seemless paper, flokati rug from Ikea, my ideal wicker basket, some new clothes, my kids to have clothes, money for their birthdays and Christmas lol sorry got carried away
I have: been truly blessed
I wish: my hubby could find a job he truly enjoyed with normal business hours and decent pay, anyone?
I hate: putting away the laundry absolutely HATE it!
I miss: life being back to normal, but I guess Id rather live a rollercoaster then a mary-go-round (did I even spell that right?)
I fear: losing a loved one (I almost don't even dare say it)
I feel: Excited to take on new ventures making things and hopefully seeing my photography business grow and be able to offer my clients unique things!
I hear: My dad, the washer, and Brenley watching emporers new groove
I smell: Fresh air, I have my windows open airing out our house.

Holiday Announcements....

I am starting to add Christmas and holiday card templates on my site, http://www.photosbymarissaextras.blogspot.com/ which is also linked at the bottom of this site. Please check back as more designs are added daily. The card options are 5x5 flat, and folded; 5x7 flat and folded; and trifold cards. If you have had a session previously with me and would like to do Holiday cards with previous sessions please contact me for pricing. As far as holiday pricing, if you are interested in a session, I will be doing two options for holiday pictures.

Option 1: Family session at one location of your choosing in weber or davis county + custom designed card template in a 5x5, or 5x7 flat or folded size and copy rights to your whole session and template on a high resolution cd is $150.00, regular price is $225.00, thats a savings of $75!!! (this option is for those who like the availability to print there own cards and pictures) This also applies to small groups larger groups and sub groups will be charged an additional fee to cover editing.

Option 2: Family session at one location of your choosing in weber or davis county + custom designed card template and 25 holiday cards in a 5x7, or 5x5 format, and a $50 print credit. This session is $125.00, regularly $175.00, thats a savings of $50!!!! (trifold cards are available for an additional fee)

*add $25 for locations outside of the above listed counties.

Sessions fill up fast so please book in advance. I will only be taking sessions through the end of November for Holiday cards.

Okay so seriously have I been the luckiest person ever to be able to be surrounded by twin babies!!! Its great and these boys were adorable!! They were really good for us too! I was so happy!!! The older siblings were so well behaved and patiently awaited to get there pictures taken too, so here is a sneak peak! (had to add the last one to replicate real life with twins lol)

These two baby girls were absolutely precious!!! When I met them they were only 2 days old. These girls were literally miracles and have a beautiful story that just pulled tremendously at my heart strings. They also have beautiful names. So here is your sneak peak guys! Things are in full swing and fall is approaching rapidly! This is the season for family pictures and getting ready for Christmas cards, Im working on some layouts, and I am also going to start a poll so if you could vote for the size that you think would be most popular as a Holiday card I would appreciate it! As for sessions, Im starting to book up fast so to secure a spot for your session for the holidays please book in advance I am taking a limited number of sessions to insure that my clients receive my full attention. You will need to schedule your session by the end of November to guarantee your pictures in time for the holidays. I will still be doing some sessions in December but a limited number and if you are interested in doing a newborn session in December, contact me.

Seniors!!!! Im in need of senior reps from high schools in the Weber and Davis Counties. You will receive a free session and Senior rep cards to hand out to your friends, for every friend that books a session with me you will receive a reward a CASH reward woohoo who doesnt like money! Awe this is my son and my nephew, his family is going to move away from us, boo! So I decided to go and take their pictures together so they could have some for one another. They are 18 months apart and love each other! I also found a new location and Im liking it!!! I want to go back and explore because there were a lot of "urban" areas there. My editing is all over the place but I wanted to try a lot of different things. Enjoy!

Im Back!

Well Im back from the country! I had a great time! We went to watch our cousin ride her horse and then we saw some indian relay races and ate some yummy chuck wagon food and man I got a whole plate of yummy grub for $3!!! Cant do that here lol. I took tons of pictures but promised our cousin (well technically my hubby's but hey we are one right? lol) that I would show her some of these pics. She is so tender hearted and laid back. She is 17 and gorgeous! She is just so laid back and not full of drama its awesome! Im heading down there to take some senior pictures for her as well, so more beauty to come! And last but not least thanks guys for everything you do for our family, Madonna, Lori, Amy, and Jamie (and of course grandpa!) you guys are awesome and we had such a great time, we love you all so much!!!

Im loving black and white lately I feel it tells a story. So once upon a time there were two girls, they were sisters and a year apart. They had to come get there pictures taken by a really nice lady :) They had some serious looks, some smiles, and then the younger little girl decided to cry because her mommy took away her nummy snacks :( The end....

Where have I been? Well Ive been setting up shop! I received my lighting and was getting everything set up in order to do maternity, newborns and babies in my studio! I still have a lot of tweaking to do, and this is where I need my valued clients! For a limited time I am doing studio sessions for free!!! Yay! Sessions will last approximately 30 minutes, this applies to maternity, newborn, baby and then a limited number of children in studio. First come first serve. This will help me establish a portfolio for studio lighting. If you have any questions on this please email me. I will be scheduling appointments for free studio sessions through the middle of August, after that comes my busy time getting ready for outdoor fall pictures, and then Christmas cards! Eek I know! I am still doing my previous model search for outdoor pictures as well. Thanks and here is my first session with my new indoor lights! What a cutie! Yay, I love UPS!

Well our wonderful UPS Lady came today and brought me a surprise, my new 85mm 1.8. I ve been excited to try this as Ive heard its a must in your camera bag. So I ordered it. Of course I didnt have any kids around, and since our doggy was not getting any public attention, I decided to post a pic of my pup! She is such a good doggy! This is using my 85mm at 5.6 so I can only imagine what it does fully open. No pp'ing on this either, its straight from the camera, love it, its fast and tack sharp! Thanks fellow photogs for the recommendation!

Model search and other workshop news!

Okay my model search is underway. I need many different models for my portfolio.

Im starting off with some outdoor stuff since right now the weather is nice but in about a month Im going to need to do maternity, newborn, and infants. So if you fit into any of these categories and want to be involved please email me so I can put you on the list, but it wont be for about a month-6 weeks. These will also take place indoors with studio lighting.

Okay I need:

6 month olds (or able to sit up on his/her own)

kids of all ages (first come first serve and when the age group fills up Ill post)

All locations will be in the weber or davis county areas with the exception of a few in North Salt Lake.
